Indian Artificial Intelligence Research Organization (IAIRO)

The Gujarat Government, led by CM Bhupendra Patel, approved the establishment of the Indian Artificial Intelligence Research Organization (IAIRO) at GIFT City, Gandhinagar.
Gujarat became the first state in India to set up a national AI research institution under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
IAIRO will commence operations on 1 January 2026.
It will function as a non-profit organization under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013.
The PPP model involves the State Government, Central Government, and Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA).
