It was launched on 28 September 2015 by PSLV-C30 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. Originally designed for 5 years, AstroSat has continued to function effectively for a decade. It observes the universe in multi-wavelengths—Ultraviolet, Visible, and X-rays (low and high energy). Developed by ISRO in collaboration with Indian scientific institutions, and international partners from Canada and the UK, AstroSat has significantly advanced India’s capabilities in space-based astronomical research.
