Msgr Dr. Sebastian Vethanath

Rev. Dr. Sebastian Vethanath is a Catholic priest of the Eparchy of Palai, ordained on 28th December 1996. He holds a Doctorate in Oriental Theology from the Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome.

Since 2007, he has been serving as a faculty member at the Syro-Malabar Major Seminaries in Ujjain and Satna, Madhya Pradesh. Prior to that, he served for five years as Procurator and Professor at Good Shepherd Minor Seminary, Palai.

In 2012, he was appointed Chancellor of the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Chicago. He has also served the Eparchy of Palai in various pastoral and administrative roles, including Assistant Parish Priest, Parish Priest, Secretary to Bishop Mar Joseph Pallikaparampil, and former Director of the Family Apostolate.

At present, he serves as the Vicar General of the Diocese of Palai and heads several organizations and institutions under the Diocese.
