New lunar mineral

China has announced the discovery of a new lunar mineral, Cerium-Magnesium Changesite, identified in the Pakepake 005 meteorite—the first lunar meteorite found in the country. The small (~44 g) spherical rock has a dark molten crust, while the mineral itself is colourless, transparent, brittle, and exhibits fluorescence. This property is scientifically significant and holds potential applications in advanced technologies such as next-generation LED materials.
