International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an international organization formed in 1957. Its main goal is to make sure that nuclear energy is used safely and peacefully. It helps countries develop nuclear power for good purposes such as generating electricity, treating cancer, producing food safely, and conducting scientific research.
At the same time, the IAEA also works to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons by inspecting nuclear facilities and ensuring that nuclear materials are not misused.
The agency provides technical assistance, training, and safety guidelines to member countries. It also plays an important role in responding to nuclear emergencies and ensuring radiation safety around the world. The headquarters of the IAEA is in Vienna, Austria, and it also has regional offices in Geneva (Switzerland), New York (USA), and Tokyo (Japan).
