Why in news? Forest fires in the valley of Flowers National Park.
Location : Chamoli district, Uttarakhand
UNESCO World Heritage Site 
Valley of Flowers N.P and Nanda Devi N.P forms the core zone of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve.
Flora : Over 600 species of exotic flowers including orchids, poppies, primulas, marigold, and daisies.
Fauna: Asiatic black bear, gray langur, flying squirrel, Himalayan weasel, red fox and lime butterfly.
