Amid scaled-down celebrations due to a firework accident, Thrissur Pooram remains Kerala’s most iconic temple festival.

Held at Vadakkunnathan Temple, Thrissur during Medam (Apr–May)
Known as the “Mother of all Poorams” (~200 years old)
Initiated by Sakthan Thampuran
Involves 10 temples, led by Paramekkavu Bhagavathy Temple and Thiruvambady Krishna Temple
