Tephra refers to small rock fragments, ash, and volcanic material ejected into the atmosphere during a volcanic eruption and later deposited around the volcano.
 It can cause lightning in eruption clouds, respiratory problems, poor visibility, and disruption of communication and electricity 
Deposited ash can damage crops and machinery, block sunlight, bury roads, and heavy accumulation may collapse rooftops.
