Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year marks the beginning of a new year based on the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar. Widely known as the Spring Festival in China, it is the most important annual celebration in Chinese culture and is observed across East and Southeast Asia.
Begins on the first new moon of the lunisolar calendar (usually January or February). An extra month is added periodically to align with the solar year.
A 15-day festival and the most important holiday in China.
Celebrated in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, and other regions with large Chinese communities.
Known as Seollal in South Korea, Tet in Vietnam, and Losar in Tibet.
