About Guinea-Bissau
Guinea-Bissau is in western Africa, along the Atlantic coast.
Its capital is Bissau
It shares land borders with Senegal (to the north) and Guinea (to the east and south).
To the west lies the Atlantic Ocean, and the country includes an offshore island chain: the Bijagós Archipelago.
The terrain is mostly low-lying coastal plains, with swamps / mangroves along the coast, and savanna / forest-savanna farther inland.
The highest point of Guinea-Bissau is Monte Torin at an elevation of about 262 m.
The climate is tropical, with a monsoonal rainy season (roughly June to November)
and a hot, dry season (dry/harmattan winds) during the rest of the year.
