Exercise Divya Drishti: Indian Army’s High-Tech Move in Sikkim

Exercise Divya Drishti was a major high-altitude military technology test conducted by the Indian Army in East Sikkim. It focused on using Artificial Intelligence (AI), drones, and surveillance systems to improve battlefield awareness and quick decision-making.

Objective and Conduct
Organised by the Army’s Trishakti Corps, the goal was to test how new AI-based tools work in real combat-like situations in tough Himalayan conditions. The exercise aimed to improve how quickly the Army can detect threats, communicate information, and act during war.

Key Technologies Used

* AI Sensors: Helped in real-time tracking of enemies and mapping difficult terrain.
* Drones & UAVs: Simulated missions to collect information and send it instantly to command centres.
* Sensor-to-Shooter System: Made sure that data from surveillance tools was passed quickly to firing units.
* Secured Communication Networks: Maintained a fast and safe data flow between troops and commanders.

Importance of the Exercise

* Improved Combat Readiness: Especially useful in high-altitude conflict zones like the Himalayas.
* Faster Decision Making: Real-time information helps commanders act quickly.
* Support for Atmanirbhar Bharat: Most of the tech used was made in India, reducing import needs.
* Future Warfare Preparation: Helps the Army stay ready for modern hybrid warfare.

Exercise Divya Drishti shows how the Indian Army is moving towards high-tech, modern warfare. It also proves the importance of self-reliant defence technologies and strong coordination between soldiers, machines, and commanders in future battles.
