E85
E85 is a high-ethanol blended automotive fuel consisting of approximately 80–85% ethanol and 15–20% petrol (gasoline). It is mainly designed for use in flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs) that can run on varying ethanol-petrol blends.
Key Points:
It supports renewable energy use by increasing the share of ethanol (often derived from biomass).
It is compatible with flex-fuel vehicles, which can operate on blends ranging from E20 to E100.
It helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional petrol, due to higher ethanol content and cleaner combustion.
