Caracal

The Caracal is a rare, elusive medium-sized wild cat adapted to dry regions, known for its distinctive black-tufted ears and agility.

Called “siya gosh” in India (Persian: “black ear”), reflecting its signature ear tufts.
Found in arid habitats like semi-deserts and scrublands; in India mainly in Rajasthan & Gujarat.
More closely related to the Serval and African golden cat than to true lynx species.
