Canine Distemper
Canine Distemper (CDV):
A highly contagious viral disease affecting dogs and other animals, caused by the canine distemper virus, which primarily targets the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems.
High mortality disease, especially in unvaccinated dogs and young puppies.
Multi-host virus—affects wildlife like large cats (e.g., tigers), foxes, and even some marine mammals.
Spreads mainly through respiratory droplets and close contact; vaccination is the main preventive measure.
