* Full Form: ARISE – Accelerating Resilience Investments and Innovations for Sustainable Economies
* Launched by: Climate Investment Funds (CIF), a multilateral climate finance mechanism housed within the World Bank
* Objective: Help developing and poor countries withstand the fallout from climate change by strengthening their adaptive capacity
* Aim: Turn climate risk into economic opportunity; integrate resilience into national development strategies
* Purpose:
– Embed climate resilience in economic planning
– Unlock new finance sources for adaptation
– Mobilize investments from MDBs, climate funds, and private sector
* Funding: Germany and Spain pledged $100 million as initial support at COP30, Belém (Brazil)
* Priority Countries: Focus on Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) — the most climate-vulnerable economies
