INS Rajali

INS Rajali is one of the largest naval air stations of the Indian Navy, located at Arakkonam in Tamil Nadu. It was commissioned on March 11, 1992. INS Rajali plays a key role in maritime surveillance and reconnaissance over the Indian Ocean region.

It is home to the Navy’s P-8I Poseidon long-range maritime patrol aircraft, which are used for anti-submarine warfare, intelligence gathering, and search and rescue operations.

The station has one of the longest runways in Asia, allowing it to handle large aircraft. It also serves as a training and operational base for naval aviation, strengthening India’s maritime security and defense capabilities.
