released by the Department of Posts.
DHRUVA is India’s Digital Address DPI aimed at creating a standardized, interoperable and geocoded digital addressing system with secure, consent-based sharing of address data.
Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) refers to foundational digital systems that are accessible, secure, and interoperable, supporting essential public services.
It seeks to build a national-level Address-as-a-Service (AaaS) framework and treat address information as foundational public infrastructure for governance and service delivery.
DHRUVA will create a robust address data sharing ecosystem integrated across government and private platforms.
It aims to catalyse innovation in sectors like governance, e-commerce, logistics and financial inclusion.
The system ensures user control over address data, promoting user autonomy, ease of living and trust.
It also promotes a public–private collaborative ecosystem to build user-centric services on a secure digital foundation.
